Walter is a respected authority on new product development, technology development and innovation. As a result of years of international business experience, he has a grounded sense for what works and what doesn’t for creating organic growth. Prior to joining the LEADX3M expert community, he held executive R&D and PMO leadership positions at a leading supplier to the semiconductor industry as well as global companies producing high-value consumables.
Walter has design and led numerous innovation process improvement projects, most with the objective of increasing speed and efficiency of new product development. Of late, he has been working to integrate agile concepts into more traditional phase-gate process development to improve product velocity. With a deep understanding of the whys behind innovation processes, he has coached countless teams and team leaders in getting projects back on track when they encounter trouble.
On the front end of innovation, Walter has trained teams and led the deployment of voice-of-the-customer programs to access new markets. He has also customized and led highly successful innovation summit events to drive communication within a company’s technical community and catalyze a more energetic, positive innovation culture.
Walter also serves as an external expert in innovation and entrepreneurship for the “New Business Venturing” entrepreneurship course at Harvard Extension School and the MBA students’ “Future Challenge Showcase” at Hult International Business School.
Walter holds the Master’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has received additional training from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in product and technology strategy. He is a certified lean-sigma champion and certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute.
