Jiulia is an experienced speaker for EngadgetThe VergeBBCWired and events organized by the United Nations. She is a former business executive and partner of the United Nations in LATAM, implementing the Sustainable Development Goals agenda in emerging markets, and she is an advisor on Education 4.0 and Industry 4.0 for the Brazilian Government.

Giulia used to work as the Head of Partnerships and Global Projects for LEGO EducationThe LEGO Group. She holds a Masters in Economics and International Management & Marketing from LUISS Business School, and during the past 16 years she has lived in 6 different countries (Italy, Ethiopia, UAE, Spain, Belgium, USA).

Prior to joining LEGO, Giulia worked as a CEO and Board Member of One Laptop Per Child, the international initiative founded by Nicholas Negroponte and MIT Media Lab. Leading OLPC, Giulia was overseeing operations in 75 countries, 4M children and a total population impacted of ~15MM people worldwide. The OLPC tablet sold over 1M units in U.S. alone during the year it was launched.

Giulia has also lead the development of products that have won several awards including: CESParents Choice AwardKids Choice Awards and numerous Global Designs Awards that brought the XO Laptop and XO Tablet to be part of the permanent collection of Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York and London Design Museum.

Giulia's experience includes:

  • Working with the United Nations and Governments (Italy and Brazil), the Private sector (LEGO), and foundations (OLPC)
